Last week, our U11 Boys Football Team travelled to the home of England’s Football Team to play in the National ISA 5-a-side Football Finals. The team were representing the Midlands Region, after qualifying as finalists at the ISA tournament in Kidderminster last term. 26 teams, from ISA schools all over the country, competed in the Finals.

The facilities, as expected, were fantastic. The boys played brilliantly, winning most of their morning games, coming 2nd in their group and qualifying for the afternoon’s Cup play-offs. After some tense games early on, (including a penalty shoot out after extra time!), St. Winefride’s bowed out of the Cup in the last stages.

The boys played their hearts out.  We had a super day, enjoying the England training facilities, even managing a wave from a certain Mr. Gareth Southgate! They finished in the top 8 , which is a fantastic achievement at National level. Well done boys, you should all be very proud of yourselves.
