This week, Year 5, in their  Science lesson, enthusiastically delved into the captivating concepts of irreversible and reversible changes. Exploring reversible changes, the children had a go at making their own ice cream, using salt to lower the melting point of ice and lot of shaking to inhibit a big freeze – it was very yummy!

Then excitement peaked with the Coke and Mentos experiment, where our pupils marvelled at the explosive reaction, emphasising both reversible and irreversible components within the chemical process. They also had fun creating their own skittle patterns and then watching the process when water was added.
