Many congratulations to St. Winefride’s U11 Boys football team who earned a hard-earned 4th place in Monday afternoon’s competition. Being the smallest school out of the 12 teams entered, the odds were stacked against the boys, but valiant efforts saw them finish second in their group. Notable results were a 2-0 victory against Harlescott (a brace from Patrick) and revenge against Long Mountain after being pipped by them in last week’s tournament (a goal each from Dexter and Mylo).

A close fought semi-final saw St. Winefride’s lose by the only goal of the match and in the 3rd/4th place play-off penalties decided the tie.  In all, a fabulous effort, the team doing themselves and the school proud.
