The Sunday Times League Tables Top State and Prep Schools was published on 17th November 2019. The ranking in the League Tables is based on the aggregated average scaled scores achieved in reading, grammar and mathematics from Key Stage 2 SATs taken by pupils in year 6 (Junior 4).

Consequently, St. Winefride’s R.C. Independent School has reached a very high ranking of 30. This is, yet again, another successive year for the School in the Sunday Times League Tables Top 100 Prep Schools and places us in one of the highest spots for schools in the West Midlands Region.

Indeed, we are the only school (both Independent and State) in Shropshire to feature in the Top 250 Primary Schools.

In our recent report, inspectors commented, ‘Attainment in English and mathematics is particularly strong and pupils’ excellent skills in reading and writing are well used throughout the curriculum. Pupils are highly numerate and can explain their working with confidence…pupils are confident in employing higher order thinking skills. Parents agreed that the School helps their child to develop skills for the future’.

We are very proud of our pupils and our achievements, working to our School ethos of encouraging all pupils to achieve their full potential.
