Last week, pupils from years four, five and six were lucky enough to get tickets to watch Manchester City play Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League game at the Etihad Stadium and travelled up to Manchester.

When we arrived, we enjoyed the different ‘street food’ stalls, the live band and, of course, the City Store! When we bought our matchday programmes, we couldn’t believe that St. Winefride’s got a mention, and Cillian got a special mention for his birthday!

Arriving at our seats, we were filled with excitement as we soaked up the atmosphere. Our seats had amazing views – as well as enjoying the match, we really enjoyed the spectacular light show before kick-off. The game ended up in a tense draw – but the chances all coming to City, including a VAR disallowed goal.

What a fantastic experience! Thank you to Mr. Goody for organising the trip and Mr. Brown, Mrs. Ward and Mrs. Curtis-Cole for also coming with us.
