This year, both our Year 5 and 6 pupils entered the bi-annual Shrewsbury Bookfest Creative Writing Competition. In total, more than 1,500 children submitted their books, each an original, often charmingly illustrated story. Our pupils did themselves proud, as the judges commented on the excellent presentation of their work as well as the high standard of the writing. One of our pupils, Tabitha in Year 5, wrote an exciting and moving tale, Badger Girl and was awarded 2nd Prize. We are thrilled with this result as well as the judges’ comments.

“An exciting story from Tabitha with beautiful descriptions and imagery that made us feel that we were a part of the story too.  Very exciting and well paced.  We loved all of the interesting facts and illustrations.  This was a most beautifully presented book. We really appreciate the effort you must have gone to to produce this fantastic piece of work.”

Fantastic news, Tabitha and well done to all our pupils for such high standards of story writing.
