January 15th is the birthday of Martin Luther King. In our whole School assembly this week, we looked at some of his achievements and how he campaigned for equal rights for all. We then listened to a woman speak about her experience of attending the 1963 march on Washington D.C.

The memory of Dr Martin Luther King’s speech – ‘I have a dream’ – has stayed with her across the years…an inspiration to carry on striving for justice and freedom for everyone. We finished by talking about British Values and our School Values of Kindness, Care, Mutual Respect and Unity and always ensuring that all people are treated with respect and equality.
