Our School Community comes together during Advent as a season of reflection for the Nativity of Christ at Christmas. We look at the coming of Jesus into the world and we prepare and remember the real meaning of Christmas.

Once again, our School are supporting a local charity, Shrewsbury Foodbank this Christmas.

The Shrewsbury Foodbank Reverse Advent Calendar is the idea where instead of opening one item on each day of Advent, we give an item. At Foodbank PLUS, families are given Christmas hampers from collections based on this appeal. Throughout Advent, each class at St. Winefride’s will be collecting items to provide the Foodbank with a hamper for a family in need this Christmas. Children will be coming home with a ‘numbered’ day and the donation item for contribution to their class hamper.
