St Winefride’s School football teams have all received their medals after enjoying notable successes and were recently featured in the Shropshire Star.

Our U11 boys were crowned County Winners in the English Schools Football Association tournament, winning through to represent Shropshire in the Midlands Regional Final in Birmingham. Meanwhile, our U9s just missed out on their County Final, losing in the semi-finals. Our U11 girls advanced to their showpiece match at AFC Telford United’s New Bucks Head ground, where they finished County Runners-up.

What a fantastic effort from all three teams – to have the three of our football teams all play for County Finals demonstrates what talented children we have here at St Winefride’s!

Well done!
