Last week, the School was again invited to compete in the 2022 ISA Midlands Cross Country Championships held at Bedstone College.

Our team consisted of 20 runners, competing in four categories: U9 Boys, U9 Girls, U11 Boys and U11 Girls, running on a difficult course, through streams and woods over a distance of 1500m or 1800m.

All our runners were fantastic, competing against a large and strong field of athletes from 40 different schools across the whole Midlands area. As always our children were fantastic, really living up to our School sporting ethos of teamwork, participation, communication and sportsmanship. Our Yr4 girls’ team came 2nd overall.

Dexter in Year 4 came in 21st in his race, Ariadne in Year 6 narrowly missed out on a top ten place, coming 13th in her U11 race. Lucy, Roni and Hester all came in the top 10 places in their race – Roni 4th, Hester 6th and with Lucy coming 2nd and winning the silver. All three girls, therefore, have qualified for the Nationals and will represent the Midlands in the ISA National Finals, to be held on 19th March at Worksop College. Fantastic!
