The School recently were invited, by Shrewsbury Town Football in the Community, to submit a team into the recent Premier League Primary Stars U11 Tournament at Shrewsbury Town FC.

This was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to play in the stadium and on Shrewsbury Town’s pitch! This was also a mixed tournament, when schools were asked to have both boys and girls in their teams.

St. Winefride’s, after recent tournament successes for both boys’ and girls’ teams, were in great form and this showed on the pitch: the team went on to win four and draw one game, coming top if their group, having also conceded no goals and scoring a magnificent 26!

This meant St. Winefride’s went on to meet Oakmeadow School in the final, winning 3 – 0 against our old rivals. St Winefride’s U11 Football Team were crowned champions and are seen here celebrating with their cup, (held by captain Ethan Savage), and medals. Well done!
